AKARTA: Edging closer to proving he and his flame can make their mark in the showbiz world, actor Raffi Ahmad will soon release his first single with girlfriend singer Yuni Shara.

While adding the finishing touches to their single 50 Tahun Lagi (Another 50 Years) in the studio, Raffi said the song, which is a cover version of vocal group Warna’s old-age hit, was produced by Yuni.
“That song has a strong meaning [for us],” said Raffi, as quoted by newsportal okezone.com. Just like the song, “[We] hope our love will last for more than 50 years.”
The original song has been adapted into a disco song, and this, Raffi said, was going to be a new thing for Yuni, who is used to singing mellow hits from the 1970s and 1980s.
Raffi, 23, said he wasn’t expecting much from his duet with Yuni, 38, countering rumors the couple are trying to emulate the success of duo Anang and former wife Krisdayanti, Yuni’s sister.
“We’re just looking for a new challenge. We don’t wish to be a legendary duo like Anang and Krisdayanti,” said Raffi. “I’m just hoping we can produce good songs the public responds well to – [the songs] haven’t been produced to make money,” he added.
Raffi said he had received many offers to perform with Yuni, as well as signed a deal with a coffee brand for a TV ad. – JP
