ENPASAR: Bali provincial officials recently signed an integrity pact in efforts to reduce corruption and promote good governance in the province.
Governor Made Mangku Pastika said the signing of the pact showed the strong commitment among local officials to maintain clean and good governance.
Bali province has launched a number of programs in efforts to reduce irregularities within its institutions.
The local administration also holds an annual open house inviting all members of the community to lodge any complaints and voice their aspirations.
Several public services units in the province apply the ISO 9001-2008 system to ensure work efficiency. An electronic procurement system enables local authorities to monitor procurements in a more transparent way.
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) advisor Abdullah Hehamahua said the pact should not be just a formality, but that it would be immediately followed up with real actions. — JP
