AKARTA: Both Senayan and GMIS CC posted easy victories over Ceylon and Challengers over the weekend’s matches in the Apple Coal Jakarta Cricket Association League 2010-2011.

In the weekend match played at Apple Coal Cricket ground, Cibubur, East Jakarta, last year’s finalist Senayan CC beat Ceylon CC by a mammoth 179 runs.

Put in to bat first, Senayan posted 222/6 in the allotted 35 overs with Srivats top scoring with 67 runs. Amar Kapadi (45 not out) and Shubo Sarkar (31) chipped in with important contributions. Ceylon’s captain Dihan Silva picked up two wickets for 35 runs.

In reply, Ceylon was bundled out for a paltry 43 runs against some hostile bowling from Rajiv Ramnarayan, who took a career best of five wickets for 12 runs. Ashit Mehta took 3/12.

In the other match played at Karawaci, GMIS CC defeated Challangers by eight wickets, by scoring the required 119 runs in 18 overs. GMIS CC leads the table with 36 points, followed by WISCI & Rebels with 24 points each. — JP
