AKARTA: State telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) will secure new loans worth Rp 4 trillion (US$450 million) from two state banks to finance the company’s capital expenditure (capex).
“We are securing loans from Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI),” Telkom finance director Sudiro Asno said in Jakarta on Friday. He said that BRI and BNI allocated loans worth Rp 3 trillion and Rp 1 trillion respectively.
“We will use the loans for capex, but it will be possible also to acquire a company,” Sudiro said, adding that the loans had a tenure of five years. Telkom will sign the loan agreement on Oct. 13. — JP
