It is one way to avoid traffic jams in Jakarta. But it is not enough. The city government has to follow up such a policy with the improvement of city bus services.

The Jakarta administration’s plan to increase hourly parking fees from Rp 2,000 to some Rp 10,000 is all right as long as the people ‘s income and earnings get a comparable increase, which is six times more, in US dollars.
