AKARTA: The government unveiled three options to relocate people in Wasior (photo right), West Papua, who are now residing in temporary tents after the flash floods hit the area last month.

Under the plan, the residents would be advised to move to a new area located at least 15 meters above sea level.

“The three options are to relocate them across Wasior or to the southern part of it or to West Wasior across the bay,” Public Works Djoko Kirmanto said as quoted by Antara on Friday.

The ministry with the National Disaster Management Agency (BPNB) plan to build some 93 temporary shelter units to be equipped with sanitation, communal kitchen and meeting room facilities. — JP
