AKARTA: A migrant worker who was abducted, raped and abandoned in the middle of Kuwait’s desert was reportedly returned to her employer, but Indonesian embassy officials had yet to locate her, an official said on Tuesday.
“Yesterday we searched for her at the hospital and we were told she was back at her employer’s house,” Kusuma Habir, Foreign Affairs Ministry’s spokesman said as quoted by detik.com.
The ministry has yet to identify the woman and was checking on her employer and whether she was from Indonesia, Kusuma said.
Arabtimesonline.com reported on Feb. 16 that a female migrant worker in Kuwait was abducted and raped, then abandoned in the middle of the desert. The 26-year-old woman was found by a person who happened to be passing through the Mina Abdullah desert. — JP
