he request Irfan Suryanegara, chairman of West Java’s Legislative Council, made for a new Rp 15 billion (US$1.755 million) residence is preposterous.
He is complaining that he cannot accommodate his guests who have problems parking their cars when they are invited to parties at his home. Well, have someone drop them off and pick them up again later or even better, come by taxi.
It seems that Irfan is fond of partying and therefore demands a bigger house with a bigger parking space for the comfort of his guests. Workers who commit to giving their time and energy to serve the nation, in this case the West Java population, should prove to the public that they are worthy of their job. How does Irfan perform with regard to his duties?
He is complaining about the mosque near his house because during Idul Fitri and Idul Adha celebrations, he suffers as he has does not leave his house.
These celebrations are not an everyday occurrence; they only happen twice a year. If he cannot survive these two days of excruciating inconvenience, he certainly is not fit to serve the public.
He wants a bigger and more expensive residence to elevate his prestige; he wants to make his guests happy by demanding a bigger parking space around his house; he finds it oh-so-hard to leave his house twice a year because of mass prayers during Idul Fitri and Idul Adha.
Oh poor Irfan, you are suffering so much. There is an easy solution to solve all your problems. Resign from your job as West Java council speaker, as apparently you are not fit to speak for the West Java population.
Just resign Irfan, as this will solve all your problems and discomfort.
