ENPASAR: As many as 200 young entrepreneurs from Badung, Denpasar and Gianyar participated in a workshop designed to improve their skills.

Organized by the Provincial Cooperative and Small Scale Industry Agency, the training featured successful Balinese entrepreneur I Nyoman Londen and Bali governor Made Mangku Pastika as speakers.

“This training is part of a comprehensive strategic effort to curb the unemployment rate. Currently, the island has around 65,000 unemployed persons and that number is likely to increase,” agency head Dewa Made Patra said.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika stated that the provincial administration had launched various initiatives to stimulate the island’s fresh graduates to start their own private enterprises. “There are many business opportunities here in Bali provided that you have the courage and the determination to explore the options. It would be much better if you started a business that created job opportunities rather than looking for job opportunities,” he said.
