URABAYA: Dozens of people have visited Bhayangkara Hospital in Surabaya, East Java, for current information on whether family members were among those killed in the ship accident in Prigi, Trenggalek.

Of the 15 people, two were Australian citizens. They went to the hospital without officials from the immigration office, UNHCR or their embassy.

“Here is my passport. I came from Australia to look for my wife’s younger brother. His name is Mohammad Ririmy,” said Said Abbas Sultani, 47, who lives in Sydney.

After hearing news of the ship accident in Trenggalek, in which 250 immigrants from the Middle East were on board, Sultani quickly contacted relatives in Iran.

“I was informed that Mohammed Ririmy went to Australia with his brother Said Hussein. I think they wanted to find a better life,” he said.
