AKARTA: An Indonesian migrant worker, Juju Juwanah binti Enung Golib, reportedly died in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sept. 26, 2011, after falling from the third floor of her employer’s house.
Her body is scheduled to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng at 7.05 p.m. today.
In a letter dated Oct. 6, 2011, the Foreign Ministry told Juju’s family that she died at King Abdul Aziz Hospital in Thaif after she attempted to escape from the third floor of the house of Fuhaid Hamid Al Sufyani, her employer, by using bed sheets as a rope.
However, she fell to the ground, it said.
“[Representatives from the] Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah came to the al-Salamah Police in Thaif, on Sept. 28, 2011, [to process the case],” said the letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Jakarta Post.
The consulate general representatives, it said, received a letter to help them obtain Juju’s medical reports from the hospital.
The team went to the hospital on the same day, but the hospital could only provide them with Juju’s report of death, while her medical report was to follow, the letter said, without further details.
