ALU: Jhon Tindas, 28, a migrant worker from Central Sulawesi could face the death penalty in Malaysia, according to local government official.

Mahmud F. Rakasima, an official of the National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) said that during his trial on Nov. 1 last year, Jhon was accused of murdering a person in Bandar Tawu Malaysia.

Quoting a source, Mahmud said that Jhon killed the person, who was identified only as “H”, in a fight.

“We have yet to verify the true story and the BNP2TKI will provide legal aid,” he said.

He said four other workers in the province could also face the death penalty in Sabah in separate cases. They are Hamzah bin Moh Yunus, 30, Kristianus Sewar, 32, Rahmat bin Moh Zaidi, 27, and Ambo Tuo, 35.
