hairman of the People’s Conscience (Hanura) Party Gen. (ret.) Wiranto said that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should follow in the footsteps of the country’s former strongman Soeharto by not dealing in the internal affairs of his political party.
“In order not to cause jealousy from rival political parties, the President must step down from his position within the party,” Wiranto said as quoted by kompas.com.
Wiranto said that Yudhoyono should emulate Soeharto by only focusing his attention on the country’s development.
“Even the 24 hours a day he has is not enough to deal with the country’s problems,” Wiranto said.
