oordinating Economic Minister Chairul Tanjung says that President SusiloBambang Yudhoyono has decided to wait for the Constitutional Court (MK) rulingon the appeal filed by the presidential election contender Prabowo Subiantobefore making a speech on the current administration's performance, as well as onthe 2015 draft state budget (RAPBN).
The court has until Aug. 21 to make a ruling.
"We haven't discussed the transitional period with the new administration,because Pak Yudhoyono has decided to wait for the ruling," Chairul saidafter attending an Idul Fitri open house at the residence of MegawatiSoekarnoputri onMonday.
Chairul said that after the court ruling, Yudhoyono would invite all of hisministers to discuss the draft state budget, including the Financial Note, atraditional speech normally given by the president before the House ofRepresentatives on Aug.17, or Independence Day.
He acknowledged that the note would probably include future economic programsproposed by president-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, as a sign of transitionalsupport from the incumbent to the new administration.
Previously, the Prabowo-Rajasa Hatta ticket, rival candidate of theJokowi-Jusuf Kalla pair, filed an appeal with the Constitutional Court after itrejected the official results of the presidential election, claiming that therace was marred with fraud and violations. (gda)
