ransportation Minister Ignasius Jonan says that his institution will team up with the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to audit the routes of all domestic airlines in order to improve transparency and enhance aviation safety in the light of the AirAsia QZ8501 accident.

'€œIf the Bareskrim and the KPK detect any instances of graft, the perpetrators shall be sent to prison,'€ Jonan said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Wednesday.

'€œI am giving them full access to investigate.'€

The ministry'€™s acting air transportation director general Djoko Murdjatmojo also said that the ministry was conducting an internal audit to find out how AirAsia obtained its flying permit.

The minister suspected that the airline might have obtained its flying permit without following proper procedures. (nfo)(+++)
