ess than a day after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan a graft suspect, photos of commission chief Abraham Samad with a female celebrity have begun to circulate widely on social media .

The photos are believed to show Samad with Miss Indonesia 2014 Elvira Denamira Wirayanti.

There are at least four photos related to the pair on social media under the title "Filthy Abraham Samad". One photo consists only of Elvira.

"It's just gossip to smear me," Samad said in response to reporters'€™ questions.

However, he declined to elaborate on the nature of the photos.

When asked whether the case would be reported to the authorities, Samad said he was waiting for further developments. "Let's just wait and see," he said.

The KPK on Tuesday named Budi Gunawan as a suspect in its investigation into the police general's suspicious bank accounts worth billions of rupiah in 2010.

Several days earlier, President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo had selected Budi as the sole presidential candidate for the position of National Police chief. (hhr)(+++)
