The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) will involve the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in its efforts to eliminate rampant narcotics smuggling in the country, which has been sustained by the illegal support of law enforcers.
Your comments:
Here is an area of attention for President Jokowi. In the first instance, the BNN should be given the authority to investigate and prosecute any and all persons involved in offering, paying or receiving bribes for the transactions related to illicit drugs.
But this will result in three law enforcement agencies actively seeking out the purveyors of death.
Who's policing the police, so to speak?
Finally, and while I am no supporter of the death penalty, if it is going to be applied to the retailers and users of drugs, then it should also most certainly be applied to the corrupt officials who play critical roles in facilitating this illicit trade in death.
