Four inmates in Pekanbaru sentenced to death for drug trafficking and premeditated murder are waiting their turn to be executed.

Head of the provincial law and human rights affairs agency Daswirman said here on Friday that his office was also waiting for further information and coordination from the Attorney General'€™s office on when the executions would be conducted.

He added that the four were included in the list of death-row convicts who would be executed immediately.

He declined to identify the four inmates since the execution schedule has yet to be announced to the public.

Separately, chief warden of the Pekanbaru Prison Dadi Mulyadi also declined to identify the six death-row convicts.

'€œIt is necessary not to make comments for security reasons,'€ Antara News Agency quoted him as saying.

Attorney General Prasetya announced on Thursday that his office and other relevant authorities were making preparations to execute six death-row convicts in Nusakambangan and Boyolali in Central Java on Sunday.

The six death-row inmates sentenced for drug trafficking and general crime offences are Namaona Denis, a 48-year-old citizen of Malawi, Marco Archer Cardoso Mareira, 53, of Brazil, Daniel Enemua, 38, of Nigeria, Ang Kim Soei, 61, of the Netherlands, Tran Thi Bich Hanh, 37, of Vietnam and Rani Andriani aka Melisa Aprilia of Indonesia.(***)
