hile the Jakarta Barbarians won a close game against Menara, two other games washed out without a ball being bowled in the Apple Coal JCA League 2014-15.

Last year'€™s Division II runners-up Barbarians, promoted to Division I this year, continued their impressive run of victories with a close 12-run win over Menara, consolidating their number one position in Division I in the process.

Sent in to bat first, the Barbarians were restricted to an under-par score of 154/6 in 35 overs, with Eki Antaria top scoring with 57 runs. Rikesh Parikh picked up two wickets. Menara raced to 65/1 in six overs with Harish Tiwari Mamaji blasting 41 off 17 balls.

Thereafter, a combination of tight bowling by the Barbarians and some loose shots by the batsmen saw Menara collapsing to 87/7 in 18 overs before eventually folding for 142 runs in 31 overs.

Rikesh remained unbeaten on 30 runs, with very little support from the other end. Scott and Lindsay picked three wickets each while Ben Burgess and Eki claimed two wickets apiece.

The other two scheduled games were called off without a ball being bowled due to continuous rain. Both Challengers and GMIS shared six points each in Division I while Senayan Tigers and Jaguars shared six points each in Division II.

The Jakarta Barbarians, WPP-India XI and WISCI lead Division I, while Fez Rebels, Metro Indians and TKCC lead Division II. (***)
