Despite loving the idea of leading his hometown, singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani says he is still unsure whether or not to go along with Gerindra Party'€™s intention to nominate him as the mayor of Surabaya in East Java.

'€œActually Gerindra has sought to meet me through my manager, but I have not responded [to the request] seriously,'€ the 42-year-old musician said as reported by kompas.com.

Dhani, who threw his support behind Gerindra chief patron Prabowo Subianto in the last year'€™s presidential race, added that he was still scouring his friends'€™ views on his possible mayoral bid.

'€œ[The idea of] improving my hometown attracts me. I am considering it. I need to see the responses of my friends there, such as my junior high and high school pals and friends from my village. Are they enthusiastic? This could be an indication.'€
