Indonesian model Ayu Gani won the Asia's Next Top Model competition on Wednesday night, defeating two other finalists from the Philippines and Singapore.
Twenty-three-year-old Gani beat Marlene Monika Sta Maria from the Philippines and Aimee Rose Cheng-Bradshaw from Singapore in the final round of Asia's Next Top Model season three, which was aired on Wednesday night.
The judges favored Gani for her amazing performance in the last two tests, which challenged all contestants in a photo shoot and runway walk wearing haute couture dresses.
'I feel so proud, naturally, to be the first Indonesian winner, and I hope Indonesia will win again,' she broadcast from her Twitter account after the announcement.
Gani's prizes for winning the competition include becoming the new face of a TRESemme hair product campaign in 2015, appearing on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Singapore and a model contract with London-based Storm Model Management. She also gets a new car from Subaru. (ika)(+++)
