The ongoing eruption of Mount Raung in East Java had disrupted many flights to Bali and badly affected tourism on the resort island, an executive said on Tuesday.
'For sure, it has impacted tourism since many tourists have cancelled their holidays to Bali,' chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) Bali chapter, Ngurah Wijaya, told The Jakarta Post, adding that the losses had not yet been calculated.

Many passengers consequently were stranded there for some days, with some camping out at the airport.
This is indeed a devastating blow to maintain Australian tourist numbers for some time to come. It adds to the negative image created by the executions of two Australians.
