AKARTA: The Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Agency aims to provide thousands of vacancies for skilled new arrivals to the city after signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with numerous companies in the capital.
'We have signed agreements with 170 small, medium and large companies to open around 9,000 positions,' Agency head Priyono said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
The companies, he said, were in the fields of automotive, culinary and electronic services.
The Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency estimated that around 68,000 people migrated to Jakarta after the Idul Fitri holiday last year and they expected to see that number increase by 3 percent this year.
