ll Jakarta residents will gradually move to paying vehicle taxes at one-stop service centers in their respective districts, following the launch of the service centers in five districts by Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama on Friday.
The governor said that the launch of the one-stop service centers at district level would not only facilitate tax payers paying their taxes, but it was expected to help the city administration to collect more revenue from vehicle taxes.
The five one-stop service centers established so far are in: Penjaringan district, North Jakarta; Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta; Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta; Pegadungan, East Jakarta; and Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The opening of the centers is a result of a cooperative effort from the Jakarta city administration, city police, city-owned Bank DKI and stated-owned life insurance provider Jasa Raharja.
Ahok said that by early next year, all 44 districts across the city are expected to have their one-stop service centers up and running. (bbn)(++++)
