AKARTA: After last year'€™s cancellation because of timing problems related to the national election, the Bali triathlon is set to return once again this year with the nutritional company Herbalife acting as title sponsor, the event'€™s organizers announced on Friday.

'€œHerbalife has supported the event for the last seven times that it has been held. In this eighth edition of the triathlon, it will become the title sponsor,'€ event manager Dedy Suprastyo told a press conference at FX Plaza Mall in central Jakarta.

Some 1,200 participants are expected to compete in the Herbalife Bali International Triathlon on Oct. 25 in Jimbaran, Bali. The event will feature three categories of competitions: Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance and the 5K Fun Run.

Olympic Distance comprises a 1.5 kilometer swim, a 40 kilometer bike-ride and a 10 kilometer run. In the Sprint event, the distance changes to a 500 meter swim, a 20 kilometer bike-ride and a 5 kilometer run.

Among notable domestic competitors in the race are Andy Wibowo and former national swimmer Richard Sam Bera. Andy will be looking for a hat trick after he won the 2012 and 2013 events. '€œThe Bali triathlon is one of the most challenging events in the sport,'€ Andy said.
