ith the alert status of the Katulampa Dam in Bogor, West Java, having increased to level II as of Tuesday evening, the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency has called on residents in Jakarta to prepare for additional floods.
“In less than nine hours, waters will hit the Manggarai sluice gate [in South Jakarta],” the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
At present, the water level in Katulampa is 150 centimeters deep and light rain is pouring in the area. The agency has disseminated information to district and subdistrict heads as well as residents via text, social media and messenger apps.
The regions likely to be affected by the floods in South Jakarta are Srengseng Sawah, Pejaten Timur, Kalibata, Pengadegan, Rawajati, Kebon Baru, Bukit Duri, Pasar Manggis and Guntur.
In East Jakarta, the regions likely to be affected are Balekambang, Cawang, Cililitan, Kebon Manggis, Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu.
In Central Jakarta, they are Menteng, Karet Tengsin, Kebon Melati, Kebon Kacang, Petamburan, Kampung Bali, Cideng, Pegangsaan, Cikini, Kwitang, Kebon Sirih, Istiqlal, Pasar Baru, Kartini, Gunung Sahari, Kebon Kelapa and Petojo Utara.
In West Jakarta, they are Kota Bambu Utara, Kota Bambu Selatan, Jatipulo, Tomang, Jembatan Besi, Angke, Maphar, Keagungan and Mangga Besar.
