T

he annual travel fair initiated by Singapore Airlines and Bank Central Asia (BCA) marks its return with discounts and new routes.

Located in the Main Atrium of Gandaria City shopping mall in South Jakarta, the event is scheduled to run from Feb. 24 to 26.

Visitors have been lining up since 9:30 p.m. the night before due to a promotion that the first 350 visitors will receive special discounts for Singapore Airlines tickets.

“Our first customer had booked a flight to one of Singapore Airlines’ new destinations, Dusseldorf, in Germany,” said the carrier's public relations manager, Glory Henriette, to The Jakarta Post.

Various offers are provided throughout the travel fair. Aside from favorite destinations, like Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Bangkok, visitors can also expect to be able to book flights to other places, such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney and Melbourne.

Starting on May 30, the airline is set to add Sweden's capital Stockholm to its network, as well as increase the frequency of its Moscow-Singapore flight from four to five times per week. "The schedule has been released, therefore visitors are able to make reservations," said Glory.

In addition to new routes, Singapore Airlines also has new aircraft with premium economy cabins that offer wider seating areas, more legroom and in-flight meals that are similar to business class, which include champagne. 

The travel fair is supported by seven travel agencies in Indonesia, namely Avia Tour, Bayu Buana, Dwidaya Tour, Golden Rama Tours and Travel, Smailing Tours, Wita Tour and Panorama Tour. (kes)
