What you should know about brand new GrabKitchen

Y

ou have probably heard the news already: Indonesian ride-hailing and life services app Grab has just launched yet another new feature called GrabKitchen, staying true to its ambition of becoming a super app in Southeast Asia.

In a nutshell, the GrabKitchen application stores data about various food merchants across Indonesia in Grab’s cloud computing system, making it easier for food lovers to access and buy whatever food they want, wherever they happen to be in the country at any given time. That is the goal that the new feature seeks to provide users.

There are some exciting details about GrabKitchen, however, that you probably have not heard yet. These details can be good news for food aficionados and entrepreneurs alike:

1. GrabKitchen will make it easier for you to enjoy your much loved traditional Indonesian cuisine.

As many Indonesians who have lived abroad can attest, the thing they miss the most about Indonesia when they are far away is the country’s diverse and delectable array of traditional foods, with their rich flavor nuances. The tastiest traditional foods, however, are still sold by small to medium-sized vendors, most of whom have yet to become accessible by online applications. Thanks to Grab’s cloud kitchen data computation system, you will soon be able to order these vendors’ foods any time you crave them.

2. Mix and match you and your friends’ orders using new system.

When you are gathering with your friends who have slightly different tastes about food, ordering from different vendors using different applications for your social function can sometimes be a hassle. What if you can order various foods from various vendors for your various friends in just one go, using one application in your smartphone? Well, GrabKitchen’s mix and match feature enables you to do just that. You can buy foods from various vendors in just one click.

“Through GrabKitchen, users can enjoy various perks such as cheaper delivery fees, quicker delivery time and the freedom to choose various food types [from various vendors] within just one order. These new benefits will by themselves alter the way our users use our application,” says Grab Indonesia’s head of marketing for GrabFood and new business, Ichmeralda Altri Rachman.

3. Grab’s new cloud kitchen system will also benefit small to medium-sized food vendors.

By making it easier for these vendors to connect with their customers, Grab is also helping small to medium-sized food sellers in Indonesia grow their businesses and open a wider channel to new markets. More than this, GrabKitchen also provides an integrated digital payment system for these vendors. You can also pay for the food using OVO.

4. These vendors (probably your favorites as well) have partnered with GrabKitchen.

Recently, besides partnering with Jakartans’ culinary favorites across the city, GrabKitchen has opened a new branch in Tubagus Ismail, Bandung, West Java, comprising 10 merchants, some of them local favorites.

“In the near future, we are planning to open more branches across Jakarta and other cities throughout Indonesia in order to support the business growth of our partner merchants,” Ichmeralda explains.

Recently, GrabKitchen partnered with some notable vendors available across various locations: AyamAsix (owned by Indonesian celebrity Ashanty), BasoAciJuara, Ciz n Chic, HAUS!, Fish Street, MakaroniNgehe, The Good Habit, GeprekBensu (owned by Indonesian celebrity Ruben Onsu) and Nona Judes (owned by Indonesian celebrity Prilly Latuconsina).

Another bonus for you: You can enjoy special promotional offers if you pay for your favorite foods from these vendors using OVO.

In the end, why should you order your food through us? Because we are GrabFood. We are an online food delivery service firm with the fastest growth and widest reach in Southeast Asia. GrabFood is also the only online food delivery service available in six big countries across Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.

In Indonesia alone, GrabFood is currently available in 178 cities. We have become the leader in the fast food delivery service in Thailand and the Philippines.

Still, we are looking forward to becoming the top food delivery service in the year 2019 across Southeast Asia.

All in all, we are striving to achieve this goal through our new offering, GrabKitchen. We aim to fulfill everyone’s cravings by enabling them to order multiple menu items within one single order from this site.
