Pioneering online travel agent (OTA) in Indonesia tiket.com has opened its second vaccination center in Yogyakarta.

Located at the B&C Hall-Bima Hall of the Jogja Expo Center, the vaccination center will offer jabs from Sept. 1 to 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., targeting the general public who have yet to receive a first dose, regardless of domicile.

Eligible recipients include those aged 12 and above, as well as workers from the tourism and creative economy sectors. Participants may register by using the tiket TO DO feature on the tiket.com app and website, which has been available since Aug. 26.

Through tiket To Do, participants can easily register and choose their preferred appointment time, avoiding large crowds and keeping in line with health protocols. The vaccination center is also complete with an integrated facility meeting public health agency requirements. A total of 30,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine will be available, with the second dose given 28 days after the first. The second dose will be offered from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.

At its official opening, tiket.com Cofounder and Chief Commercial Officer Dimas Surya Yaputra reiterated the company’s commitment to the recovery of the national tourism industry.

“The tiket.com vaccination center was established in Yogyakarta as part of our commitment to support the government in accelerating the national vaccination program, so as to reach the national target by the end of 2021. We hope that tiket.com’s vaccination center can reach people from all walks of life and of all ages so that we can reach herd immunity,” he said.

“I would like to thank tiket.com who will continue to vaccinate with a target of 30,000 doses. Pandemic control is a game changer in determining the public’s activities and travels, so that our economy can recover quickly. This is something we must all support together,” he said.

According to data from the Yogyakarta Health Agency, the province had recorded 17,042 active COVID-19 cases in August 2021, making up 7.68 percent of the nation’s active cases with a recovery rate of 89.11 percent and a mortality rate of 3.22 percent.

From the targeted population of 2.8 million, 49.84 percent have received their first jab, while 20.79 percent have received their second.

“The tiket.com vaccination center is our top priority agenda for 2021. In line with our vision to become the first in assisting government efforts in recovering the national tourism industry by assisting the distribution of, and public access to, the vaccines. While the vaccine distribution is still ongoing, we continue remind people always to apply the health protocols, even after being vaccinated. Together, we can defeat the virus and revive the glory days of Indonesia’s tourism success,” Dimas said.
