s country-wide public activity restrictions (PPKM) have been called off in time for the Christmas and New Year holidays, hand sanitizer producer Antis and Citilink Indonesia have collaborated to provide in-flight health kits for passengers traveling using the airline.
The first batch was handed out to passengers on Citilink flight QG 192 from Jakarta to Denpasar, Denpasar, on Friday, and approximately 220,000 health kits will be provided to Citilink passengers departing on domestic flights from Jakarta to destinations such as Denpasar, Surabaya in East Java, Medan in North Sumatra and Yogyakarta starting on Wednesday.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno, who boarded the QG 192 flight for official travel, expressed his appreciation for Antis and Citilink’s collaboration in supporting tighter health protocols during the year-end holiday season.
“This is a positive initiative done to support stringent health protocols for travelers during the [year-end holiday] period. Hopefully, travelers will feel safer and more comfortable going on their trips, and we hope this initiative will be continued so as to support the rise of Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy sectors, which will surely open more opportunities for employment,” he said.
Ryan Tirta Yudhistira, chief sales and marketing officer of Enesis Group, which produces Antis, noted that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo had reiterated the importance of stronger health protocols and vaccination efforts in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Aside from the joint vaccination drive with the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, he added, the health kits supported the ministry’s efforts in ensuring that health protocols are strictly enforced and supervised.
“This is part of Enesis’ commitment to [working with the government] to benefit public health, this time through Antis linking up with the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and Citilink. We hope that through this collaboration, we can be ready to rise again,” Ryan said.
Citilink corporate secretary and corporate social responsibility (CSR) vice president Diah Suryani said the health kits were a part of the airline’s efforts and commitment to providing a safe and comfortable flying experience while also providing health protection for its passengers, especially during the holiday season amid the pandemic.
“Citilink applies strict health protocols in every line of its flight operations, from pre-flight, in-flight to post-flight. We refer to the government’s health protocol guidelines in ensuring that every flight runs optimally while prioritizing our customers’ health and safety.”
