oinciding with International Women’s Day, with the theme of gender equality today for a sustainable future, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) has implemented a law that was drawn up six years ago, UU No. 8/2016, which governs the rights of people living with disabilities. This was done in collaboration with the National Commission for Disabilities to empower and promote more inclusive economic development for people with disabilities. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was established under the principles of economic inclusion and the sustainability of a more optimal economic ecosystem for all women entrepreneurs of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with disabilities through the fulfilment of entrepreneurial rights.

The programs that are prioritized based on the promise of the collaboration are: optimization of call center 143, disbursement of financing for prospective customers with disabilities, business capacity building by maintaining accessibility and a training system that takes into account the full spectrum of disabilities. With the integration of call center 143, data gathered from customers with disabilities can be more accurate. Prospective customers with disabilities will be able to directly contact the center to determine what types of services and products are available, or other information from PNM, by simply pressing the number three. The direct call navigation that was created by the call center will help prospective customers to access information rights and the continued process of financing and empowerment that PNM has, which is PNM Mekaar.

"The collaboration between PNM and the National Commission for Disabilities is expected to be able to create an inclusive economic ecosystem for groups of people with disabilities, including financing and empowering, so that women with disabilities can be more independent, for themselves, their families and the country. With the call center Disabilitas Tanah Air (DITA) 143, they will be able to access PNM information from 143 so that a structured system can monitor the needs of people with disabilities related to accessibility and business financing," said Dante Rigmalia, Chairman of the National Commission for Disabilities, at an event to commemorate International Women's Day in Batu, Malang, East Java.

Also present at the event was Sunar Basuki, Director of Institutions and Planning at PT PNM. Expressing his appreciation and supporting the collaboration between PNM and the National Commission for Disabilities, he said, "Of course PNM supports, and in principle provides equal opportunities to, all MSMEs and ultra micro businesses so that they can have optimal benefits, especially women with disabilities, so that they are able to contribute to entrepreneurship."

As of Monday, PNM Mekaar had 11,397,541 customers, with a national scale of financial distribution of 11.4 trillion. PNM currently has 3,680 offices throughout the country, servicing MSMEs in 34 provinces, 422 cities and 5,640 subdistricts. The number of customers for PNM Mekaar in Malang regency alone is 2,160,283. The aforementioned number refers to those in the city of Malang and Batu in East Java. East Java is the province with the third-largest financing distribution in PNM.
