T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is realizing its social and environmental responsibility program (TJSL) by facilitating Quality Family Village communities through opening a waste bank in RW 07, Kayuwalang, Cirebon. It is hoped the waste bank will increase the awareness of the villagers on environmental cleanliness and improve the local economy for residents.

The PNM is actively monitoring the program to ensure its sustainability. The initial monitoring was attended by Mira Damayanti Hardjono, head of the Management Services, Partnership and LKMS Division.

“With this waste bank, it is hoped that the residents of RW 07 Kayuwalang can create a clean and healthy environment and that residents can turn waste into economic goods. The PNM will continue to provide support through the TJSL program, with one way through the waste bank activities," said Mira.

“Thank you to the PNM for facilitating the needs of RW 07 residents to run the waste bank program. With the operation of the waste bank, PNM Mekaar residents and customers can get additional income by saving waste that can be exchanged for cash, groceries or to pay installments on their Mekaar loans," said Mr. Taiman as the chair of the Kayuwalang Quality Family Village, who also attended the monitoring activity.

For the waste bank program, the PNM gave out equipment such as trash cans, composters, leaf chopping machines, carts and waste scales.

With the support of this program, the Quality Family Village of RW07 in Kayuwalang was placed second in the Quality Family Village competition in the category of the Environmental Cleanliness Program at the West Java province level in December 2021.

Until 28 March, the number of PNM Mekaar customers was 11.6 million on a national scale, with financial distributions reaching Rp 118 trillion (US$8.22 billion). PNM currently has 3,221 offices all over the country that serves SMEs in 34 provinces, 422 districts and/or cities, and 5,640 sub-districts. There are 181,725 PNM Mekaar customers in Cirebon.
