ndonesia is expected to achieve an impressive international trade performance this year. The continued surplus will boost foreign exchange earnings and at the same time enhance the capacity and resilience of Indonesia’s external sector.

Amid the continued trade surplus Indonesia is enjoying, Customs and Excise as a trade facilitator and industrial assistant strives to be responsive to provide services and perform supervisory tasks optimally to support exports from various regions.

This has been showcased by the Yogyakarta Customs and Excise office that served three recipients of bonded zone facilities in June 2022.

Eko Darmanto revealed on June 22 that Yogyakarta Customs and Excise performed supervision of packing and services related to the export activities conducted by PT Mega Andalan Kalasanpada. The company located in Kalasan, Sleman, is focused on producing medical devices and hospital equipment.

“The company exported 17 tons of hospital beds and hospital furniture to Australia and Japan transported through Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. As many as 236 boxes of products were transported using two 20-foot containers. The consignment was worth Rp 1.34 billion (US$90,383),” he said.

On June 16 the Customs and Excise office also carried out supervisory tasks and served PT Komitrando Emporio, which exported 3,957 cartons of backpacks to the United States and Canada. The goods were exported through Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang and were transported in eight 40-foot containers and two LCL units.

The export generated $280,525 in foreign exchange earnings, some Rp 4.17 billion.

“The company, located on Jl Wonosari, Bantul, DIY, has been engaged in manufacturing fashion products since 1990,” he added.

PT Eagle Glove Indonesia, another recipient of the bonded zone facility, successfully exported 80,000 golf gloves to the US on June 15.

The commodities were packaged in 654 cartons and were transported to Tanjung Emas Port for loading. The commodities weighed 5.88 tons.

“The consignment was worth US$247,925 or about Rp 3.67 billion. PT Eagle Glove Indonesia is located in Purwomartani, Sleman, and golf gloves made of leather and synthetic leather are its main products,” Eko said.

The three companies that successfully exported their commodities in June of this year are the recipients of the bonded zone facility under the supervision of Yogyakarta Customs and Excise Agency.

The bonded zone is a facility provided by Customs and Excise to industrial companies whose products are either exported and/or sold to another boded zone.

Recipients of the facility are entitled to a range of easements including suspension of import duty, value added tax (VAT), luxury goods tax and other tax exemptions.
