In commemoration of the 76th National Police Day on Friday, the two institutions held various events under the theme Police in Support of Economic Recovery and Structural Reforms to Realize a Growing, Stronger Indonesia.
In Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, local customs and excise office head Edy Susetyo met with Banjarmasin Resort Police chief Sr. Comr. Martosumito on June 8 to discuss future collaborations between the Banjarmasin Customs and Excise Office and the Banjarmasin Resort Police.
Meanwhile, Ambon Customs and Excise Office head R. Teddy Laksmana visited the Ambon Police in Maluku on June 14 and was immediately greeted by its chief, Sr. Comr. Raja Arthur Lumongga Simamora. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the monitoring of regions under the Ambon Customs and Excise Office. They are Ambon Island, Buru Island, Seram Island, Saparua Island, Haruku Island and Banda Island.
In Semarang, the Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise Office and the Central Java Police renewed their commitment to ensuring that goods entering Indonesia comply with prevailing regulations.
“The goal of this collaboration is to educate the public on the solidarity and synergy between law enforcement agencies. We hope this will deter people from violating the law, especially in relation to customs and excise,” said Central Java Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Abioso Seno Aji.
The Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise Office, the Central Java Police and the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) to discuss strategies for economic recovery in Central Java in a focused group discussion held on June 8.
“Central Java has countless potential that we can explore and develop, whether it’s business owners or micro, small and medium enterprises [MSME]. It’s our responsibility to nurture this spirit and accelerate economic recovery. The Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise Office guarantees that all businesses will receive the best services for export and import processes through Tanjung Emas Port,” he said.
In East Java, meanwhile, Sidoarjo Customs and Excise Office head Pantjoro Agoeng awarded the Director of Prosecution and Investigation of Customs and Excise to the Criminal Investigation Unit team of the Sidoarjo Police as a token of appreciation for their efforts in protecting the state from potential losses.
“We hope that this award will increase the morale of our colleagues in the Criminal Investigation Unit. Of course, we will continue to maintain this synergy,” said Pantjoro.
The Customs and Excise Directorate General supports the National Police and upholds inter-agency synergy as a demonstration of good governance among law enforcement agencies.
“Both institutions have worked together carrying out visits, discussions and coordination and other joint tasks,” said public relations and customs counseling subdirectorate head Hatta Wardhana.
