T Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI, stock code: BBNI) continues strengthening its international banking performance by combining its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Go Global and diaspora services.
BNI president director Royke Tumilaar said the potential for enhancing its international banking performance was relatively strong due to the company's two strategic business segments, MSME Go Global and the diaspora community.
"BNI's international performance in the future will continue to grow positively. We encourage the collaboration of MSME Go Global, as well as members of the diaspora, whether they are immigrant workers or those who have settled abroad. That will be our target in the future," he said.
Royke further explained that there are currently around 8 million Indonesians living abroad who have the potential to be served by BNI. Among them, 4 million are immigrant workers, while the rest are naturalized foreign citizens.
Royke assumed that if a member of the diaspora saves US$1,000 annually, the potential third-party funds (DPK) that BNI collects will amount to around US$8 billion. Apart from empowering the diaspora, BNI utilizes its network to encourage MSMEs to level up by showcasing local MSME products abroad.
Furthermore, Royke said that BNI received a mandate to develop banking services abroad as a state-owned bank. This is inseparable from the presence of a BNI branch office, one of which has been present in Singapore since 1955.
Additionally, in developing its business globally, BNI will utilize digital services. The company seeks to use BNI Mobile Banking to provide international transactions for individual customers, BNIDirect for assistance in business solutions and BNI Xpora for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that want to increase their business capacity.
"BNI Xpora offers a variety of digital services that can be used by SMEs of various levels, from those that are still pioneering to those that are ready to expand their markets in the global arena. All SME players can freely access BNI Xpora through the xpora.id domain. Through this portal, SMEs can access various features," he concluded.
