he eSports tournament For Stronger Indonesia by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) dramatically ended with a win from the Dewa United eSport team with Cemas Ko Deck and Tentakel Modja. The three teams beat 2,207 others at the acclaimed national tournament.
BNI ended its 76th anniversary with the tournament, where players competed in three of the world’s most popular games: Free Fire, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile and the locally made Lokapala.
The competition was officially closed at the atrium of Kota Kasablanka Mall by BNI president director Rokye Tumilaar, vice president director Adi Sulistyowati and services and network director Ronny Venir. Also present as a guest of honor was Telkomsel sales director Adiwinahyu Basuki Sigit to express his support for the Indonesian eSports community and to hand awards to winners as part of BNI’s appreciation for Indonesia’s best eSport athletes.
Royke hoped that similar competitions would support more local gamers and developers to make history. Royke expressed how the gaming world provided a space for millennials to socialize, with the generation’s serious talk often happening between online gaming sessions with friends.
He also assured competitors and attendees that BNI was a lifetime partner for millennials, providing banking solutions in every online-game transaction. “We hope that this championship will boost the Indonesian gaming sector and nurture more game creators who will attract global attention,” he said.
