Sinarmas World Academy helps students become the ‘BEST’ version of themselves

inarmas World Academy (SWA) is preparing to revolutionize teaching with its Business, Engineering, Science & Technology, and Arts (BEST) Pathways program, which was introduced at an orientation session at the Trini Dewi Theater on Friday. The program is set to take place during the 2022/23 academic year.

"Through BEST Pathways, SWA is committed to providing support at a personal level so that each child gets a learning experience that is in accordance with his or her chosen field," said Deddy Djaja Ria, general manager of SWA, during the orientation.

The program was specifically designed to help students gain knowledge and develop their abilities according to their interests and talents. It seeks to help them gain as many experiences as possible in order to reach academic achievements and prepare for the next steps of their lives, namely university and their future careers.

BEST Pathways was carefully crafted to take into account the many aspects of children's learning and development, and it is expected to be integrated gradually with different approaches for different ages. Deddy explained that for early-age education, the program would be integrated with the Early Years Foundation-Stage Curriculum, a play-based curriculum.

"From introducing literacy and numbers and exploring outdoor activities to utilizing advanced technology and using it for work, at this stage, SWA encourages every child to be involved in all activities while looking for the things that will be their interests and talents," Deddy added.

The elementary school program will study and analyze the progress of each student and record relevant data in a database used by the academic team to provide additional support to suit what each student needs personally. From there, students will be divided into groups to learn the material, which can be chosen by each student individually according to his or her needs or skills, in the last class of the day – or the 9th period, as it is referred to.

“For the 9th period, the school will provide recommendations to parents regarding the subjects that best suit their children. For example, if there is a child who is not good at English, in this last period, the school will recommend that he takes English. On the other hand, if there are children who are very proficient at mathematics, the school will recommend that they take upper-level mathematics for the Olympics so that they can hone their skills even more," said Deddy.

The four academic pathways mentioned earlier will finally become the students' study discipline once they enter the junior and senior years of high school. Each student will be connected to a counselor who specifically provides support in choosing subjects, extracurriculars and certifications outside of school that match their talents and interests. Furthermore, the counselors will also actively help students apply for college and scholarships.

In accordance with SWA's vision to shape the future as a dynamic and global learning community, BEST Pathways is also a program that continues to grow and evolve from time to time.

"Combining the academic database of students and graduates, as well as the world's developments every year, the school will also continue to learn and grow to be able to provide the most relevant support for today, and even anticipate the needs of students in the future," said Deddy.

SWA has announced an open house ahead of the 2022/23 academic school year so that parents of prospective participants can learn more about the modern, inclusive and dynamic educational support for their children that will be available at the school. To register for this activity, please contact the school by WhatsApp at 0889 7308 8773.

“Through the BEST Pathways adapted in the teaching and learning system, SWA helps students personally to provide more mature preparation in maximizing the right target area of learning, so that every student who graduates from SWA can become a person who not only shows good academic performance, but also excels in his or her field,” concluded Deddy.
