T Permondalan Nasional Madani (PNM), via the Pengembangan Kapasitas Usaha (PKU) program, held a webinar and set a record for MURI (Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia) for the category of "Webinars for Sustainable Development by the Most Women”, with the aim of increasing customer understanding about the importance of quality education for children to build character and improve living standards for family welfare. The activity was attended by 30,000 participants, who are also PNM Mekaar customers (from Jakarta, West Java, Kalimantan and Sumatra) on Aug. 8. The event was attended by the director of operations of PT. PNM, Sunar Basuki and Andre Purwandono, as senior customer relations manager of MURI in person.

The webinar is part of a commitment by PNM to build relationships and provide support to PNM customers to gain new knowledge and information that can have a positive impact on the progress of MSME businesses throughout Indonesia. On this occasion, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir conveyed his message with a special video made for webinar participants related to the importance of the role of women in continuing to learn to develop themselves; Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati was also present virtually on this occasion.

"I believe that we as women are able to face various challenges in life and build a business for the welfare of the family,” said Ibu I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati. The event was also attended by Najwa Shihab, journalist, founder of Narasi and literary activitist. She joined in virtually as a speaker for 30,000 PNM Mekaar customers.

"It is not easy to be a multi-role woman; we fellow women must strengthen each other.  Let us support and strengthen each other among women in Indonesia, Insya Allah, it will help us achieve our dreams,” Najwa said in a short conversation with one of PNM Mekaar's customers.

The role of MSMEs in fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia is enormous. PNM is one of the Holding Ultra Micros that was established by the government specifically to provide empowerment for MSMEs to continue to support and improve the capabilities and quality of its customers so that they continue to grow and advance in class. The material presented includes new developments that encourage changes that shift toward sustainable development based on human rights and equality to promote social, economic and environmental development.

“Always be enthusiastic and always think positively for a better future for your family and children, because in our opinion, the main foundation of a family is these mothers,” said Ibu Friderica Widyasari Dewi, as a member of the OJK board of commissioners. She was also present at the event virtually.

“This webinar is also [about] empowerment through PNM's three capitals [financial, intellectual and social]. Financial capital is represented by a business-capital program without loan guarantees. It is group in nature and has an insured system. Intellectual capital is supported by a PKU program with training provided to customers such that they can upgrade and develop so that they can advance to class and become independent. Social capital is encouraged by a training program for customers, so that they can interact and exchange economic business in one ecosystem, with the aim of encouraging customers to be able to empower the communities around them,” Sunar Basuki concluded.

For additional information, up until Aug. 3, PNM has distributed financing of Rp 131.80 trillion (US$8,858,075,688) to PNM Mekaar's customers, totaling up to 12.31 million customers. Currently, PNM has 3,500 PNM Mekaar service offices and 688 PNM ULaMM service offices throughout Indonesia serving MSEs in 34 provinces, 422 regencies/cities and 5,640 sub-districts.
