T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), in collaboration with PLUT-KUMKM of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), held a training workshop and distributed Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) to 500 PNM customers at the El Tari Building in Kupang, NTT.
The workshop was themed “Targeted Small Business Course For Female Entrepreneurs: Mama [women] Save, the Family Prospers; Mama Has NIB, the Business Prospers”.
The business training and NIB distribution event was attended by PNM President Director Arief Mulyadi and PNM Advisor Director Noer Fajriansyah, as well as a host of high-ranking and senior provincial officials: NTT Governor Viktor B. Laiskodat, Financial Services Authority (OJK) NTT head Japermen Manalu, NTT Communications and Informatics Office head Abraham Maulaka, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) NTT deputy Christina Tallo, NTT Treasury Directorate General (DJPb) Budget Implementation Head II Edi Purwanto, who attended on behalf of the NTT DJPb head, and NTT Social Service Agency head Jamaludin Ahmad.
Head of BRI Kupang branch Stefanus Juharto and Head of BRI Pegadaian Kupang Erianus also attended the event. Pegadaian is a subsidiary of BRI.
“PNM consistently provides three types of capital: financial, intellectual and social. Financial capital is provided through productive business financing, intellectual capital through assistance that includes training and sharing information and experiences, while social capital is provided by providing facilities to build relationships with customers to form a collective business network, for accelerating customers’ business growth,” said PNM President Director Arief.
“This training and NIB distribution [event] is a certain effort by PNM to provide the best for micro, small and medium enterprises [MSMEs] in developing the people’s economy through these three types of capital,” he said.
During the event, all participating PNM customers were able to directly open a BRI savings account and obtain their NIB. An NIB indicates that a business is a legally registered enterprise, making it easier for the products of PNM customers to compete in a growing market.
Meanwhile, the training workshop helped customers learn about the benefits of saving and how to set money aside for savings, and how to easily open and maintain a savings account.
As of Sept. 6, 2022, PNM has distributed as much as Rp 139.2 trillion in loans to PNM Mekaar customers to reach a total of 12.5 million customers.
PNM currently operates 3,500 PNM Mekaar service offices and 624 PNM ULaMM service offices across the archipelago, serving MSMEs in 34 provinces, 443 regencies and municipalities and 5,640 subdistricts.
