T Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) is actively pursuing partnerships with various higher-level educational institutions, with one such being Jendral Soedirman University (Unsoed) in Purwokerto, Central Java. Unsoed has mapped potential areas in the Banyumas regency for trigona honey bee farms, namely in the locations of Pageraji, Langgongsari, Pagelarang, Kemrajen, Pajerukan, Kalibagor and Limpakuwus where PNM Mekaar customers are concentrated.

PNM has assisted Unsoed and held training sessions under its business capacity development program for PNM Mekaar customers, consisting of 500 participants from the Mekaar Cilongok 2 Unit. The training opened at the Pageraji village hall in Cilongok district, Banyumas regency, Purwokerto on Thursday. As part of the “Sectoral Clusterization” empowerment program in trigona bee farming, the training covered strategies and the optimization of beekeeping and marketing, which included packaging, labeling and branding to support trigona bee products.

The event was attended by PNM operational director Sunar Basuki, Unsoed professor Imam Widhiono, head of the Purwokerto branch of PNM Rohmat Agus Pranoto, head of the Yogyakarta branch of PNM Azis Junaidi, head of the Magelang branch of PNM Agus T and head of the Banjarnegara branch of Yosua Mawantyo Nugroho as well as Raihan Cahyono, a member of the Inyong Trigona Honey Beekeepers community.

Through its development program, PNM provides cross-branch mentoring between customers to help increase their awareness of strategizing and optimizing their trigona bee products, including improving their branding and designing attractive labels to broaden their markets, increase their customer base and upgrade their businesses while providing for their families.

“PNM has collaborated with Unsoed to promote the beekeeping industry for bee farmers in Purwokerto,” said Sunar.

“This training has a positive impact on Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia through mentoring and empowerment programs,” added professor Imam Widhiono from the biology department at Jendral Soedirman University.

“PNM always holds mentoring and assistance programs for ultra-micro customers through the Business Capacity Development Program,” PNM Purwokerto head Rohmat.

As of March 11, PNM has disbursed a total of Rp 141.6 trillion (US$ 9.4 million) to fund 12.7 million PNM Mekaar customers. PNM has over 3,504 PNM Mekaar offices and 639 PNM ULaMM service branches across Indonesia in 34 provinces, 422 regencies and cities and 5,640 districts.
