T Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI (stock code: BBNI) is an agent of development that continues to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by opening gateways to wider markets.

To support the #BelaPengadaan MSME digital platform and the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia movement, BNI actively supports the PaDi UMKM platform owned by the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry. The platform will enable MSMEs under BNI’s mentorship to digitally access the SOEs Ministry’s agencies.

As of Sept. 7, 555 BNI-mentored MSMEs had onboarded on PaDi UMKM as sellers. The realization of BNI purchase-procurement transactions on the PaDi MSMEs is also high, amounting to Rp 23.25 billion (US$1.52 million) with a total transaction volume of 3,255.

BNI institutional baking director Sis Apik Wijayanto hopes that this will have a positive impact of increasing transactions and sales volumes of MSMEs, as well as facilitate the purchasing and procurement on the SOEs side while still prioritizing domestic MSMEs.

“Of course, efforts to support MSMEs are one of our priorities as a government bank. BNI proactively supports comprehensive products and services including market expansion,” he added.

Sis said support for MSMEs varied in terms of assistance, training, programs and events, financing, transaction facilities, remittances, digitization, market access and partners in procurement.

He added that mentoring programs for BNI’s MSMEs were in accordance with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s mandate to support the Domestic Product Increase Acceleration program (P3DN) to help MSMEs and corporations advance the Bangga Buatan Indonesia movement. as stated in Presidential Instruction No. 2/2022.

“We proudly say that as of August 2022, BNI has achieved domestic product spending of Rp 3.1 trillion, or around 74.1 percent of BNI’s procurement of goods and services in 2022, amounting to Rp 4.19 trillion with a domestic component level (TKDN) of 70 percent,” he added.

To accelerate the production of domestic goods, BNI has a strategy to encourage the consumption of local MSME products, the utilization of the MSME PaDi platform and the optimization of product purchasing with domestic component levels.

As a strategic partner, BNI pushes a number of existing products and services to help MSMEs progress from upstream or downstream.

“Hopefully MSMEs can be the backbone of the economy and continue to stand tall, take pride and be the king of their own country," Sis concluded. (*)
