The first step of this collaboration began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BNI consumer banking director, Corina Leyla Karnalies, and director of IT, consumer and network of Bank Jateng, Wiweko Probojakti, at Bank Jateng head office in Semarang, Central Java, on Saturday (1/10/2022). It was attended by the deputy president director of BNI, Adi Sulistyowati.

Corina said this collaboration includes several initiatives such as utilizing the products, services, channels and capabilities of each bank, optimizing the payment-product network such as the Domestic Government Credit Card (KKPD) and Tapcash co-branding, and exploration of opportunities for cooperation in training and curriculum development to increase human-resource capabilities.

"Of course, we are grateful to Bank Jateng for providing an opportunity for BNI to collaborate, especially in building a strong and more-sustainable economy with various Go Digital solutions. We hope that this can provide the maximum benefit for Bank Jateng customers and the people of Central Java as a whole," he said.

Wiweko Probojakti said that Bank Jateng is a BPD that is proactive in increasing digital capabilities by initiating collaborations with various parties. He believes that this collaboration will not only improve each other's service capabilities, but also enable more opportunities to make new breakthroughs in providing the best service for all customers.

"We certainly appreciate BNI for offering opportunities for collaboration with us. Of course, this will be an opportunity for us to strengthen Bank Jateng's digital transformation and provide a new value proposition for our customers," he said.

BNI supports Batik Specta event in the old city

To commemorate National Batik Day on Oct. 2, BNI supported the Semarang, Central Java, city government in collaboration with the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry (KPPPA) to hold a batik specta event. A prestigious local event with the theme #1000styles, Batik Specta featured thousands of types of batik with style and charm.

Specifically, BNI showed appreciation to old and young batik craftsmen in Pekalongan, West Java, Lasem and Surakarta, Central Java.

Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi hoped that Batik Specta could further increase people's love for batik. This traditional clothing has been recognized as a Humanitarian Heritage for Intangible Oral Culture by UNESCO since Oct. 2, 2009.

"We thank all parties who made Batik Specta Kota Lama a success. Please all citizens come to Semarang to enjoy the atmosphere of the old city while enlivening the batik specta event and don't forget to shop for batik in this event," he said.
