In keeping with this approach, PT PNM inaugurated on Thursday the Ruang Pintar Sendang Ilmu (wellspring of knowledge smart room) in Pilang Bangu hamlet of Sendang Bumen village in Berbek district, Nganjuk, East Java.
To launch the new facility, PT PNM collaborated with the Sendang Bumen village administration, the Berbek district administration and the Nganjuk regional administration, as well as the management of the RA Miftahul Ulum school.
The event was attended by officials from the Berbek district leadership forum (Forpimcam), Sendang Bumen village officials and PNM Kediri branch manager Mizan Saroni. The event also saw the attendance of 50 guests, comprising 25 PNM Mekaar Berbek customers and their children.
Economics and development (Ekbang) deputy Ir. Yudy Ernanto inaugurated the Sendang Ilmu smart room on behalf of Nganjuk Acting Regent Marhaen Djumadi.
"We hope it will be useful for the brothers and sisters here," Yudy said, expressing his appreciation for the facility.
In his speech, PNM Kediri branch manager Mizan Saroni said the purpose of the Sendang Ilmu smart room was to boost the company’s economic, social and environmental development, as well as its legal and governance development. It also aimed to create added value for the company’s contributions through its principle of integrated, targeted and measurable impact.
As part of the facility’s launch, PNM also distributed stationery, nutritional food packages, schoolbooks and mobile data packages.
As of Oct. 16, 2022, PNM has disbursed microloans totaling Rp 146.43 trillion (US$9.4 billion) to 12.9 million PNM Mekaar customers. PNM has over 4,138 PNM Mekaar offices and 639 PNM ULaMM service branches across Indonesia’s 34 provinces, including 422 regencies and cities and 5,640 districts.
