The Group of 20 Summit is the perfect opportunity to propel MSMEs in the creative industry. MSMEs now have the chance to showcase traditional souvenirs to attract delegates and foreign guests.

It will also be an opportunity for MSMEs to find a partner to go global with the influx of guests from the international business community.

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI encourages MSME partners to participate in the Future SMEs Village event. BNI presents a number of MSMEs, from handicrafts to cosmetics and fashion.

The Future SMEs Village event was opened by Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Teten Masduki at Nusa Dua, Bali on Friday.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that as a state-owned bank BNI had to commit in order to realize the potential for MSMEs to accelerate their performance by having them join the G20 side event.

As a state-owned enterprise (SOE), BNI, as the main supporter of the Future SMEs Village event, aims to help MSME exporters under BNI Xpora to attract delegations from all over the world.

"We hope that the MSMEs we've mentored will find a new motivation to improve their performances and unlock new opportunities in this Future SMEs Village event," he said.

Okki added that BNI was also strengthening the production capacity and capabilities of MSME partners.

BNI hopes that MSME players can be better prepared for export opportunities during the G20.

"We hope to avoid one-time buying, which is only temporary. We will of course also prepare various coaching, mentoring and business matching programs that can be leveraged by MSMEs to go international," he said.

BNI offers the BNI Xpora program to propel MSME exporters abroad. The total credit portfolio of BNI Xpora until September 2022 reached Rp 25.79 trillion (US$1.67 billion) with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 71.08 percent.

Meanwhile, to facilitate cash management and personal transaction needs for MSMEs, BNI offers BNI Direct and BNI Mobile Banking. Both add to the customer’s experience in accessing various BNI banking solutions.
