T Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, and the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Sharia Bank (Bank NTB Syariah) have committed to collaborating on the development and strengthening of regional services.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted by BNI vice president director Adi “Susi” Sulistyowati and Bank NTB Syariah president director Kukuh Rahardjo on Tuesday in Jakarta.

The scope of the cooperation between BNI and Bank NTB Syariah encompasses the mutual utilization of products, services, channels and capabilities. Furthermore, the two banks also signed a partnership agreement on issuing Domestic Government Credit Cards (KKPD), TapCash Bank NTB Syariah cobranding cards and Sharing Biller.

Susi said the collaboration was expected to bring convenience, comfort, efficiency and acceleration to regional purchasing activities.

“This is our first joint venture with a sharia bank. We hope this strategic step will benefit the community and customers while also improving the performance of Bank NTB Syariah,” she said.

Susi added that BNI was ready to facilitate the KKPD across Indonesia, especially in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province, whether through QRIS in an initial phase or through credit card service centers for increasing credit limits, the 24-hour BNI Call Center, dedicated travel agents, Grab for Business and other features.

Moreover, to monitor the KKPD, BNI will develop billing and payment reconciliation features, as well as SMS or email notifications for every transaction and e-bill. This would make it easier for each work unit to control business travel and operational budgets.

“We hope that in the future, the reconciliation and monitoring system will also simplify and help work units speed up the drafting of official accountability reports (LPJs) and payments to banks,” she added.

As for the TapCash cobranding cards, BNI has prepared infrastructure to support easy payments for transportation, toll roads, retail, tourism and other transactional ecosystems in NTB. At the same time, BNI will provide speed, ease, safety and convenience to customers for top-up services and updating the balance of TapCash cobranding cards via Bank NTB Syariah facilities.

In the Sharing Billers cooperation, BNI has more than 400 services it can integrate with Bank NTB Syariah for processing electricity and water (PDAM) bills, land and building tax and insurance premiums, as well as e-money top-up and other facilities, so Bank NTB Syariah customers can more easily meet their financial needs. In the early stages, biller TapCash Card Balance and Top Up will be included in the collaboration.

"Hopefully in the future, there will be more billers that can be included so that the scope of Bank NTB Syariah’s payment capabilities will be more comprehensive," Susi added.

Bank NTB Syariah’s Kukuh said the cooperation was expected to improve and optimize banking services, especially in NTB, to provide ease of transaction to the local community.

“This collaboration is for the benefit of both BNI and sharia banks. We are grateful to be synergizing with BNI today. Hopefully, BNI will continue to be a trustworthy and reliable bank," said Kukuh.
