Nissan unveils new SUV, the New Terra VL 2.5 4x4, at Jakarta Auto Week

n March 10, the first day of the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2023 (GJAW) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Nissan officially introduced visitors to its brand-new SUV during its press conference, the Nissan New Terra VL 2.5 4x4, which carries the slogan: More Intelligent, More Adventure.
Continuing its commitment to introducing leading products that realize Nissan’s vision of intelligent mobility, the New Terra VL 2.5 4x4 is a manifestation of its efforts to change the way cars are driven, powered and integrated into the surrounding environment.
Featuring Nissan’s newest technologies, the New Terra VL 2.5 4x4 ensures an enjoyable driving experience that aligns with Nissan’s newest tagline, Elevate Excitement, strengthening its commitment and ambition to create an innovative driving experience that brings value to everyday life.
The first category of the new tech featured in this vehicle is safety technology. The New Terra VL 2.5 4x4 comes with the following security features: intelligent forward-collision warning (IFCW) and intelligent emergency braking (IEB), both of which are systems that warn the driver of potential collisions and will automatically brake if the software recognizes the vehicle is in dangerously close proximity to crashing.
The next feature that the vehicle comes equipped with is intelligent around-view monitoring (IAVM) with moving-object detection (MOD), a system that displays the surrounding area from a birds-eye view for the driver and can detect objects from the rear. It also contains lane departure warning (LDW), a system that warns the driver if their vehicle is beginning to leave a lane, and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA), another warning system that alerts the driver with indicator lights and sounds when the sensor detects other vehicles approaching from behind.
Aside from that, the vehicle provides intelligent driver alertness (IDA), intelligent rearview mirror (IRVM) and blind-spot warning. The first system reminds the driver to rest if the software detects a change in driving behavior; the second is a clear display of the rear of the vehicle through the use of high-quality cameras located in the middle rearview mirror; and the last is a sensor that can detect other vehicles approaching the blind spots of the Nissan New Terra VL 2.5 4x4, flaring up indicator lights to warn the driver.
Furthermore, the New Terra VL 2.5 4x4 comes packaged with a slew of convenience technologies.
Namely, the shift on the fly 4x4 system, allowing drivers to transition from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive smoothly according to their needs; electric-parking brake, which lets drivers easily activate the parking brake with a push of a button; multiple USB A and C ports, letting passengers connect their electronic devices; an 11-inch roof monitor with an HDMI port for rear seat entertainment; zero-gravity seat, a seat design that reduces fatigue for the drivers and increases comfort; and lastly, remote one-touch tumble for second-row seats, a feature that automatically folds the second row of seats to facilitate easy exit or entry for third-row passengers.
Closing the presentation, the CEO of PT Nissan motor distributor Indonesia Tan Kim Piauw stated the New Terra VL 2.5 4x4 would be offered to consumers with a Jakarta OTR price of Rp 749,900,000 (US$48,805) with an included three-year warranty or guaranteed 100,000 kilometers and free service inspections for four years or up to 50,000 km.
