ASEAN-BAC ready to host ABIS 2023 and ABA 2023

T

he Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), Arsjad Rasjid, proudly presents the highly anticipated flagship events: the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2023 and the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) 2023. As part of the ASEAN-BAC Summit 2023 under Indonesia’s chairmanship, these prestigious events will be held in Jakarta on September 3-4, 2023, bringing together over 2,000 delegates representing governments, businesses, and communities from around the globe.

Registration to attend ABIS is still open until August 11, 2023 at 23:59 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). To register, create an account on the ASEAN-BAC official website at aseanbacindonesia.id/accounts/register and then place an RSVP for flagship events (subject to availability).

Journalists who want to cover this event can register through the dedicated link aseanbacindonesia.id/media until August 11, 2023 at 23:59 WIB. The government will grant media accreditation for attending this event at a later time.

ASEAN Business & Investment Summit 2023

The ASEAN Business & Investment Summit 2023 is part of the ASEAN-BAC Summit and serves as a platform to amplify the voice of the private sector to push for policy reforms and put ASEAN at the center of the global economy. With diverse perspectives and expertise, ABIS 2023 will facilitate discussions on pressing issues in the ASEAN region toward developing innovative solutions to promote sustainable economic growth.

"ABIS 2023 will strengthen cooperation between stakeholders, facilitate potential ideas and strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the ASEAN business landscape," said ASEAN-BAC chairman Arsjad.

"This event will play an important role in shaping a conducive business environment in the ASEAN region, creating opportunities for business leaders to engage in constructive dialogue with policymakers and other parties," he emphasize.

Over the two-day event, ABIS will be attended by prominent speakers from ASEAN member countries and the bloc’s dialogue partners, including: Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Zulkifli Hasan; former Indonesian minister of tourism and creative economy and former executive director of development policy and partnerships at the World Bank, Prof. Mari Elka Pangestu; Chairman of the Japan International Trade Organization (JETRO), Norihiko Ishiguro; Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), John W.H. Denton AO; and Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E Budi Sadikin. In understanding the positions of Indonesia and ASEAN amid the rapid changes in the global landscape and increasing tensions in the geopolitical sphere, ABIS 2023 will strengthen ASEAN-BAC's commitment to uphold ASEAN centrality through innovation and inclusivity.

ASEAN Business Awards 2023

The ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) has been an important initiative of the ASEAN-BAC since its inception in 2007. Over the past 13 years, ABA has provided members of the ASEAN business community with a platform to reaffirm their position among their industry peers. ABA serves to enhance regional integration and in doing so, demonstrates ASEAN-BAC's commitment to innovation and sustainability.

ABA 2023 will honor outstanding companies and individuals who have demonstrated leadership in driving growth through innovative solutions. In addition, this year’s awards will also recognize businesses that prioritize an agenda for building sustainability, showcasing their dedication to developing a more inclusive and environmentally responsible ASEAN community.
