aking the momentum of Indonesia’s 78th Independence Day, Bank Mandiri engaged in a tour of three countries, namely Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia to introduce the Livin' Around The World feature for its Livin’ By Mandiri mobile banking app.

Simultaneously attended by tens of thousands of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Taipei, Singapore and Johor Baru, Bank Mandiri took part in enlivening the celebrations on Sunday by providing a series of special promotional programs aimed at PMI.

The programs include rewards of up to Rp 500,000 for opening a new account through Livin', along with Rp 300,000 for activation of Livin' for existing Bank Mandiri customers, as well as up to Rp 500,000 direct cashback for purchasing airline tickets through the Livin' Sukha feature.

Attending the event across the three countries were Bank Mandiri president director Darmawan Junaidi; deputy president director Alexandra Askandar; director of risk management Ahmad Siddik Badruddin; director of network and retail banking Aquarius Rudianto; director of finance and strategy Sigit Prastowo; and director of information technology Timothy Utama.

During the occasion, Bank Mandiri also introduced a foreign currency transfer feature in the Livin' by Mandiri app to make it easier for PMI to send money from abroad to Indonesia or vice versa. The feature, which was launched at the beginning of 2023, has become one of the most widely used services by overseas Bank Mandiri customers.

From Feb. 15 to Aug. 10, the number of foreign currency transfers through Livin' by Mandiri reached Rp 37.2 billion with more than 20,000 active users, an ever-increasing trend.

In addition, as an effort to further cater to its customers, Bank Mandiri is introducing a forex account opening feature with 10 foreign currency options, including United States dollars (USD), euros (EUR), Singapore dollars (SGD), British pounds (GBP), Australian dollars (AUD), Swiss francs (CHF), Japanese yen (JPY), Malaysian ringgit (MYR), Hong Kong dollars (HKD) and Thai baht (THB).

"With this innovation, Bank Mandiri makes it easier for customers to comfortably transfer abroad as needed quickly, affordably, completely and easily without having to switch applications," said Bank Mandiri president director Darmawan Junaidi in Taipei on Sunday.

On the same occasion, Bank Mandiri also strengthened its collaboration with various parties to provide added value and financial management solutions to the Indonesian diaspora community abroad.

"This is part of Bank Mandiri's commitment to present financial solutions to the people of Indonesia as well as our efforts to provide a sense of security, protection and provide added value to realize the welfare of PMI," concluded Darmawan.
