Pertamina ready to explore business potential in AIPF 2023

P

T Pertamina is preparing nine potential cooperation and collaboration projects as concrete steps toward developing green infrastructure at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) flagship event, which takes place in Jakarta from Sept. 5 to 6, 2023.

The nine plans for green infrastructure development do not only relate to energy, or oil and gas, but also include the development of supporting infrastructure for the tourist industry.

In the energy and oil and gas sector, Pertamina is preparing partnership in developing the infrastructure for the Integrated Green Terminal Kalibaru, Integrated Terminal Tapanuli Tengah, potential cooperation on the Carbon Capture and Storage/Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage (CCU/CCUS), the gas pipeline network of Dumai – Siak, and the production of green hydrogen and nature-based solutions.

Pertamina Corporate Communication vice president Fadjar Djoko Santoso said Pertamina would be active in the ASEAN Summit 2023 flagship event. This is a joint effort by the state-owned enterprise (SOEs) and the SOEs Ministry to support the AIPF as the epicenter pillar of economic growth in ASEAN through collaboration with global partners.

“As the state-owned energy company, Pertamina continues to strengthen environmentally friendly energy infrastructure and a more resilient business ecosystem,” says Fadjar.

Concrete steps in the development of green infrastructure, continued Fadjar, was not only done within Pertamina group, but rather also other SOEs integrated into Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) in the factory development for electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

“Pertamina continues to look for new business opportunities in the energy transition era by investing in strategic sectors, including supporting the EV ecosystem. This is crucial in addressing the energy trilemma, which comprises energy security, affordability and sustainability,” explained Fadjar.

Pertamina as a leader in the energy transition field, is committed in supporting net-zero emissions 2060 by continually promoting programs that have a direct impact on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All of these efforts are in line with the implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) throughout all business and operations units of Pertamina. **
