ndonesia will be a gracious host by offering maximum services to all media workers, both domestic and international, covering the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta from Tuesday to Thursday.
This was stated by the Communications and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi at the Media Center of the 43rd ASEAN Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday.
One of the services provided by Indonesia as the host of the summit is the provision of a robust, 10-gigabyte internet network.
This way, all journalists can work comfortably without interruptions in delivering news to their respective offices.
"With 10 GB, it's incredibly fast," he said.
In addition to providing high-speed internet, the minister continued, Indonesia was also offering various facilities, such as food and drink available 24 hours a day. Several rooms had also been provided for media workers to use. Furthermore, to alleviate pressure during coverage, massage facilities were also available.
Budi Arie Setiadi said that as a matter of principle, Indonesia aimed to be a gracious host. That way, media workers could report on the 43rd ASEAN Summit more extensively to their respective countries.
He also expressed hope that the main theme of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, "ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth", could be realized. The goal of ASEAN Matters, he said, was to make ASEAN relevant and important to the Indonesian people, ASEAN and the surrounding region. Meanwhile, Epicenter of Growth reflected Indonesia's desire to capitalize on ASEAN as a center of economic growth.
Previously, the director-general of public information and communications at the Communications and Information Ministry, Usman Kansong, stated that the Media Center for the 43rd ASEAN Summit was accommodating some 2,500 journalists, nearly 1,800 of whom were foreign journalists.
